Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Southern Baptist Church, Gregory. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Gregory. There will be a 7 p.m. prayer service today at Kotrba Funeral Home, Gregory.
She was born on March 25, 1917, in Dallas to Curtis and Laura (Sporwein) Elshire.
She attended country schools in Tripp and Todd counties. She attended school in Dallas during her teen years.
On Nov. 8, 1934, she married Walter Biggins.
She owned a dress shop in Scotland and the Edi Lori Shoppe in Gregory.
She also sold Home Interior and Avon.
She worked as a nurse’s aid at the Gregory Hospital and worked for eight years in Sun City, Ariz., doing elder care.
In 1976, she returned to Dallas.
She is survived by three children: Gloria Boettcher, Glendale, Ariz.; Karen Stukel and Gregg and wife Be, all of Gregory; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, a brother, Jack Elshire; four sisters: Dorothy Hulse, Nora DiVincenzo and husband Richard; Billie Ballard and Ellen Renken and husband Elton; two sisters-in-law: Esther Biggins and Hazel Elshire; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a granddaughter, her parents, two brothers: Curt and Dutch Elshire; a sister, Marge Whitelaw; two sons-in-law: Arlyn Boettcher and Cal Stukel; four brothers-in-law: Joe Zahm, Filo Hulse, Furnis Biggins and Chester Biggins; and a sister-in-law, Olive Biggins.
