Louise Pederson, 91, Rapid City, died Oct. 8, 2010, at Bella Vista Living Center, Rapid City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Gregory. Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery at Dallas. A wake and rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gregory.

She was born October 5, 1919, near Dallas, to Mary (McElory) and Chauncey Elliott.

She attended elementary school in rural Tripp County at the Saathoff School and at St. Joseph Catholic School in Gregory. She was a graduate of Colome High School and worked for a time as a maid in Albert Lee, Minn.

She attended South Dakota Beauty Academy in Sioux Falls and began a long career as a beautician in Gregory where she owned and operated Louise’s Beauty Salon.

On Nov. 26, 1943, she married Elvin Pederson in Colome. They lived on their farm located four miles east of Gregory.

She was active in Catholic Daughters of the Americas, served as regent and in the Gregory Senior Citizens organization. She also had been a Silver Threads and Gregory nursing home volunteer.

She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Larimer and husband Robert, Oelwein, Iowa; and Jan Nordby and husband Dick, Rapid City; five grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; one great, great-grandson; a brother, Merle Elliott and wife DeEtte, Colome; and a sister Darlene Williams and husband Donald, Yankton; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death her parents; her twin sister Lucille; brothers Charles, Harold, Delbert, Raymond, and Stanley; a sister Alma and infant brothers Joseph and Walter.
