Elmer Ferdinand Auch, 83, Aurora, Neb., died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at Memorial Community Care.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Evangelical Covenant Church, Aurora, with the Rev. Karl Larson officiating. Burial will be in Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary, Aurora.

He was born on Aug. 14, 1927, at Lesterville to Ferdinand and Martha (Gall) Auch.
He grew up on a farm and graduated from Scotland High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, being honorably discharged in 1946.
On June 5, 1949, he married Lorraine Rada at Petersburg Church in Lesterville.
They moved to Rapid City, where he worked as an electrician.
In 1970, they moved to Aurora, where he was a production manager for Bonnavilla Homes until his retirement in 1992.
He was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church.
He is survived by his wife, three children: Gary and wife Deb; and Dianne Buller and husband Paul, all of Aurora; and Janet Sanger and husband Gary, Ankeny, Iowa; five grandchildren, two stepgrandsons, a great-granddaughter, a brother, Bill and wife Marcia, Kansas City, Mo.; and two sisters-in-law, Emma Auch, Aurora; and Nadean Auch, Yankton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Melvin, Ervin and Archie; and a sister-in-law, Nancy.
