Mitchell splits with Lennox

LENNOX — The Mitchell fastpitch softball team split a doubleheader with Lennox Sunday.

Mitchell took the first game 3-1 before dropped the second game 4-2.

Sam Kayser grabbed the win in the first game, throwing seven innings and allowing four hits and two walks.

Kaleigh Rolle scored two runs, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. She had a home run in the sixth inning and Andrea Sheppard-Kauwalu had a triple in the sixth and Kelli Schlimgen doubled.

In the second game, Sheppard-Kauwalu took the loss. She allowed four runs on four hits and three walks in seven innings. She struck out eight.

Schlimgen and Sheppard-Kauwalu each had an RBI single.

Mitchell (6-7) plays today against Sioux Falls Washington at the Cadwell Park Sports Complex.
