Mitchell swept by Sioux Falls Roosevelt

SIOUX FALLS — The Mitchell fastpitch softball team was swept by Sioux Falls Roose-velt Thursday in Sioux Falls.

Mitchell lost the first game 6-1 and the second game 7-4.

Andrea Sheppard-Kauwalu took the loss in the first game. She gave up six runs, 11 hits and one walk. She stuck out four.

Emily Sudbeck had a triple and scored a run and Danni Bruscher had an RBI for the Kernels offense.

Kelli Schlimigen threw six in-nings and took the loss in the second game. She allowed seven runs, 11 hits, one walk and she struck out four.

For the Kernels offense, Ka-leigh Rolle was 2-for-4 with three RBIs, Natasha Stern was 3-for-3 and Dezare McGuire had two hits and scored two runs.

Mitchell is 5-6 and plays at Lennox Sunday.
