Museum to host renowned author and speaker

Mitchell, SD –The Dakota Discovery Museum is pleased to announce the September program of the Middle Border Lecture Series. Elizabeth Cook-Lynn, a member of the Crow Creek Sioux tribe, author and educator will present readings from her three novellas in Aurelia. The writings tell of the invasion of Indian lands, the destruction of the Missouri River, and the grief and joy of an American Indian family.

Mitchell, SD –The Dakota Discovery Museum is pleased to announce the September program of the Middle Border Lecture Series. Elizabeth Cook-Lynn, a member of the Crow Creek Sioux tribe, author and educator will present readings from her three novellas in Aurelia. The writings tell of the invasion of Indian lands, the destruction of the Missouri River, and the grief and joy of an American Indian family.

The Lecture Series will be presented quarterly and will feature speakers on topics pertaining to the history, art and culture of the Middle Border region. The program is free to the public and will be held on Monday, September 13 at 7:00 PM at the Dakota Discovery Museum, 1300 McGovern Ave, Mitchell. The Middle Border Lecture Series is made possible in part by a Speakers Bureau grant from the South Dakota Humanities Council, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
