Howard Lentz, Huron

Howard Lentz, 86, Huron, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at Huron Regional Medical Center, Huron.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Huron, with the Rev. Kelly Smith officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, Huron. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Kuhler Funeral Home, Huron, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.

He was born on April 10, 1924, at Vienna to Theodore F. and Elisa M. (Stroth) Lentz.

He grew up and attended school at Willow Lake.

On Feb. 9, 1952, he married Francella Schinderling at Huron.

He is survived by his wife, six children: Terry, Parkston; Kevin, Lorry Risetter and husband Clark; Cheryl Lentz, and Charles and wife Penny, all of Huron; and LaRae Moreno and husband Robert, Brookings; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a brother, Ralph and wife Margaret, Huron; two sisters: Marion Scalia, San Jose, Calif.; and Marie Lentz, Mesa, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, his parents, three brothers: Eugene, Donald and Beryl; and one sister, Helen Richardson.
