Several area boat ramps still closed after heavy rains

After heavy rains hit the state in mid June, many boat docks around the area were closed and remain closed due to high water.

After heavy rains hit the state in mid June, many boat docks around the area were closed and remain closed due to high water.

Here is a list of the affected docks on the Lake Francis Case. The list is updated on the South Dakota Game, Fish & Park website as conditions change.

- American Creek Campground, Chamberlain, closed

- American Creek Marina, Chamberlain, open

- Buryanek, near Platte, open

- Cedar Shores ramp, near Oacoma, open

- Cedar Shores high water ramp, near Oacoma, open

- Dude Ranch, near Oacoma, closed

- Elm Creek, near Chamberlain, open, use at own risk

- North Point North Bay, near Pickstown, closed

- North point St. Francis Bay, near Pickstown, open

- North Point Prairie Dog Bay, near Pickstown, open

- North Wheeler, near Platte, open

- Pease Creek, near Geddes, open

- Platte Greek, near Platte, open

- Snake Creek North, near Platte, closed

- Snake Creek South, near Platte, open

- South Scalp Creek, near Fairfax, open

- South Shore, near Fort Randall Dam, open

- South Wheeler, near Bonesteel, closed

- West Bridge, near Platte, open

- Whetstone Bay, near Bonesteel, closed

The GF&P warns boaters to always use their judgment when launching from any ramp.
