Shelton Hohn Sr., 88, Torrance, Calif., died Saturday, June 26, 2010, in Torrance.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Lomita, Calif. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Gamby Funeral Home, Lomita.

Shelton Hohn Sr., 88, Torrance, Calif., died Saturday, June 26, 2010, in Torrance.

He was born on Jan. 6, 1922, to Carl and Buford Poulson Hohn in Ethan,

He moved to California in 1941 to find work in the aerospace industry.

He married Lorraine G. Krzyzopolski in February 1942.

They lived in Burbank and Gardena in California before moving to Torrance.

He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1946.

He retired from aerospace after 33 years.

He is survived by his wife, children: Margot Rudon and husband Norris, Lake Forest, Calif.; Ginger Hohn, Lomita; Charles Hohn Jr. and wife, Sherry, Torrance; Eileen Gilles and husband William, Glastonbury, Conn.; Jean Hohn, Loveland, Colo.; John Hohn, Santa Cruz, Calif.; 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Lorraine F. Hohn, San Diego; and two sisters: Mary Pierce and husband Robert; and Virginia Miller.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael; a sister, Marlys Bartlett; and a brother-in-law, Glenn Miller.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Food Pantry at St. Margaret Marty Catholic Church, 25511 Eshelman Ave. in Lomita, or to a charity of choice.
