S.D. Baseball Hall of Fame to add 6

SIOUX FALLS (AP) — Six men, including the state’s all-time home run king, will be inducted into the South Dakota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame.

SIOUX FALLS (AP) — Six men, including the state’s all-time home run king, will be inducted into the South Dakota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame.

The inductees are Kevin Leighton of Madison, Duane Miller of Canova, Luverne Locken of Mitchell, Al Merriam of Huron, Jim Wilber of Dell Rapids and Robin Ackman of Mitchell.

Leighton slugged a record 501 career homers during 34 years of amateur baseball.

The six will be honored at the State Amateur Baseball Tournament in August, to be followed by the Hall of Fame banquet Sept. 26 at Canova.
