Flooding causes road closures in Davison County

Several Davison County roads are closed following the heavy rains Thursday and Friday, but that’s not stopping some people from driving around barricades.
Sharon McBrayer, administrative assistant of the Davison County Highway Department, said the central part of the county was particularly hard-hit by the heavy rain.

Several Davison County roads are closed following the heavy rains Thursday and Friday, but that’s not stopping some people from driving around barricades.

Several roads have been shut down, McBrayer said. She urged people to check routes and not go around barricades.

Here is a list of closed roads in the county:

- Betts Road, also known as 403rd Avenue, is closed from Interstate 90 to 254th Street, also known as old Highway 16 or County Road 30.

- 407th Avenue is closed between 247th Street and 248th Street.

- 402nd Avenue is closed between 252nd Street and 253rd Street.

- 253rd Street is closed between 401st Avenue and 402nd Avenue.

- 253rd Street is closed between 406th Avenue (also known as Red Arrow Road) and 407th Avenue.

- 405th Avenue is closed between 252nd Street and 253rd Street.

- 401st Avenue is closed between 257th Street and 258th Street.

- 408th Avenue is closed between 263rd Street and 264th Street.

- 264th Street is closed between 406th Avenue and 408th Avenue.

- 407th Avenue is closed between 263rd Street and 265th Street.
