Delmont picks up 2-1 win over Geddes

DELMONT — Delmont had a two-run first inning, and that proved to be enough Thursday in a 2-1 win over Geddes in a Sunshine League amateur baseball game in Delmont.

DELMONT — Delmont had a two-run first inning, and that proved to be enough Thursday in a 2-1 win over Geddes in a Sunshine League amateur baseball game in Delmont.

Tom Heisinger threw all nine innings and struck out four batters to pick up the win for Delmont. Willie Meis threw all nine innings and struck out nine batters and took the loss.

Dan Bures, Drew Anderson and Jordan Kocer each had a double and a single for Delmont and Cassius Kocer had two singles.

Brian Oberbroekling had four singles to lead Geddes.

Delmont is now 2-2 and plays the Parkston Mudcats at 7 p.m. Sunday in Parkston. Geddes hosts Mount Vernon at 7 p.m. Sunday.
