Barbara Sautner, Gettysburg

Barbara Sautner, 83, Gettysburg, died Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the Golden Living Center, Pierre.

Funeral services were May 10 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gettysburg.

She was born March 24, 1927 at Gettysburg to Jim and Doris (Collar) Soloman.

She was raised in Gettysburg and attended Gettysburg School until the eighth grade.

She married Paul Sautner July 8, 1944 at Lebanon, Penn.

She moved back to South Dakota in November 1945. They farmed until they moved into Gettysburg in 1952.

She worked at Gettysburg Memorial Hospital for five years. They resided in Gettysburg until moving to Pierre in April 2009.

She is survived by four children: Larry and wife Fran, Mitchell; Jerry and wife Cheryl, Gettysburg; Richard and wife Jody, Pierre; and Jeanelle Schaefer and husband Jeff, Hoven; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, Sharie; her parents; a sister Cecelia Hill; a half brother; and her mother-in-law, Mary Sautner.
