Absentee voting begins today
Secretary of State Chris Nelson has announced that absentee voting for the June 8 primary election will begin today and continue until 3 p.m. on Election Day.Voters who wish to cast an absentee ballot may do so at their county auditor’s office or by applying for an absentee ballot through the mail.

Voters who wish to cast an absentee ballot may do so at their county auditor’s office or by applying for an absentee ballot through the mail.
Applications are available at www.sdsos.gov.
Republican primary voters will be selecting U.S. House of Representatives and gubernatorial nominees, as well as legislative and county candidates.
Democratic primary voters may have legislative and county primaries.
In some locations, municipal elections, school elections and county ballot questions are also included.
Voters registered as independents will be able to choose to vote a Democratic primary ballot where available.
To see the specific races on a local ballot, visit the Voter Information Portal at www.sdsos.gov.
The portal will show voters where they are registered to vote, what party they are registered with, where their polling place is located and by April 27 will display their sample ballot.
