SIOUX FALLS - Trevor Holleman has already had a decorated career at the University of Sioux Falls, but it was recently announced that he earned another honor.

Holleman, a New Holland native, was named the Sioux Falls area Fellowship of Christian Athlete College Honors Athlete. Members of an FCA panel voted Holleman as their selection over other colleges’ nominations.

Holleman played football for the Cougars for four years and was a key contributor in their 56-1 run and three national titles in that time. He was named the Great Plains Athletic Conference defensive player of the year as a senior and an NAIA All-American three times.

Holleman is also an all-conference performer on the USF track and field team and has qualified for the NAIA indoor and outdoor meets.

As well as being a solid athlete, Holleman has also been widely recognized for his efforts in the classroom. He won the 2009 A.O. Award, was twice named an academic All-American and was a finalist for the Campbell Award. He volunteered at the Big Brother program and reads to students at local elementary schools.

Holleman is attending the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Lincoln, Neb., for dental school in the fall.
