DWU announces schedule changes

Dakota Wesleyan University athletics has announced a few changes to its teams’ upcoming schedules in hopes of avoiding some of the bad weather headed for South Dakota.

The Tigers’ baseball team canceled Wednesday’s doubleheader against Dickinson State University in Rapid City. That nonconference game will not be made up.

The team also has moved its Great Plains Athletic Conference home opener against Dordt College from Friday to today. The games will begin at 1 p.m. at Drake Field.

Also, the DWU track and field team will travel to Sioux Falls for the Vance Butler Invitational at Augustana College today instead of Friday. The meet will begin at 1 p.m., with the Tigers’ first event beginning at 2 p.m.

DWU’s softball team’s doubleheader against the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, N.D., has been moved up from 4 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.

The DWU women’s golf team’s spring opener today at Whispering Creek in Sioux City, Iowa, has not been changed.
