A judge heard arguments from both sides of the Jasmine Guevara murder case during a suppression hearing on Wednesday in Mitchell.
Five witnesses involved in the investigation were questioned as part of the hearing. All were law enforcement officials.
Suspect Alexander Salgado's defense is hoping to suppress some evidence in the case, including audio, video and transcripts of police interviews.
Salgado, 21, has been indicted for three felony charges - including first degree murder - in the death of 16-year-old Guevara.
Judge Sean O'Brien said he will issue a written decision on the suppression request in April.
