County planning and zoning to meet Tuesday

A public hearing regarding amendments to the county zoning ordinance will be part of Tuesday’s regular meeting of the Davison County Planning and Zoning Commission. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the second-floor courtroom of the courthouse, 200 E. Fourth Ave.

A public hearing regarding amendments to the county zoning ordinance will be part of Tuesday’s regular meeting of the Davison County Planning and Zoning Commission. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the second-floor courtroom of the courthouse, 200 E. Fourth Ave.

The proposed zoning amendments would add:

• Self-storage units as a conditional use in all districts, and will also specify a definition for those units.

• Salvage yard recycling centers as a conditional use.

• Archery ranges to existing regulations on shooting ranges.

• Riding stables as a conditional use.

• Rules requiring the naming of subdivisions.

• A section to the zoning ordinance requiring a 75-foot setback from rights-of-way for safety hazards that obstruct views or cause snow buildup.

• Changes to Article 17 as it pertains to public notice requirements for re-zoning.

• Changes to minimum size specifications for yards.
