Marty Barington bowled his first perfect game of the new year Thursday night at the Village Bowl in Mitchell.
His latest 300 marks No. 23 in his career.
“There’s not a number I’m trying for; I want to just keep it going and see where it ends,” Barington said. “I’ve had a good year so far and just keep on hoping the pins fall and see how many it totals.”
This is Barington’s first perfect game of 2010 but his third of the bowling season, which started in September and runs through May. His last 300 came in December.
He said no matter how many times he rolls a 300, he still gets nervous.
“It doesn’t get any easier,” he said. “The heart gets fast, your hands start to shake and you go through things like it was your first one.”
Barington was bowling for Flack Signs in the Palace City league when he got the perfect game. He is preparing for the national bowling championships, which start this month in Reno, Nev.
