Alice Peters, 81, White Lake, died Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at her home in White Lake.

Alice Peters, 81, White Lake, died Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at her home in White Lake.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, White Lake. Burial will be in the church cemetery, White Lake. Visitation will be prior to the services Thursday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bittner Funeral Chapel, Mitchell.

She was born on Oct. 2, 1928, in Brule County, near Kimball, to William and Florence (Benedict) Collins.

She grew up at Kimball, where she attended school and graduated from Kimball High School in 1946.

On Sept. 2, 1948, she married Jerome Peters at White Lake.

She delivered The Daily Republic in White Lake for many years.

She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, where she served on the altar society and taught catechism.

She also was a Brownie Scout troop leader.

She is survived by two daughters: Barbara Nagel and husband Mark, Mitchell; and Cyndi Quizon of Pensacola, Fla.; a son, Greg Peters, Pierre; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a brother, Lee Collins and wife Pat, Rapid City; three sisters: Lillian Harris and Betty Collins, both of Reno, Nev.; and Rose Marie Burns, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in July 2005, a grandchild, her parents and three brothers.
