Bison killed after getting loose in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — An officer with the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department shot and killed a bison that had wandered into the south central part of Aberdeen Wednesday morning.

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — An officer with the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department shot and killed a bison that had wandered into the south central part of Aberdeen Wednesday morning.

City Police Capt. Neil Bittner says about 10 animals got loose from a sales barn south of the city, and the one came into town and disrupted people going to school and work.

Bittner says no one was hurt and no damage was reported. He says workers at the sales barn were corralling the other escaped animals.
