Heesch wins annual Turkey Trot

Matt Heesch, of Mitchell, was the winner of the annual Turkey Trot road race Thursday in Mitchell.

Heesch — who has competed for Augustana College in the national cross country meet — was the overall winner with a course time 16:25.

Heesch competed in the men’s 20-29 division. In second was Todd Vleiger who also competed in the 20-29 division. He finished with a time of 16:38.

The winner of the women’s overall race was Carla Snedeker with a time of 22:28. Berkley Rietveld was in second, finishing at 22:30.

Snedeker was part of the women’s 40-49 group and Berkley competed in the women’s 19 and under.
