A Mitchell man is accused of producing meth in a trailer north of Hitchcock Park in the city’s first meth lab bust in 2009.

Justin Fuller, 22, 1201 E. First Ave. No. 21, is charged with felony manufacture of methamphetamine.

Mitchell police found the small meth lab Tuesday night, said Dean Knippling, police drug investigator. Fuller, who lived at the trailer for six weeks, was arrested after he admitted to making meth using the “one pot method.”

That procedure involves making a small amount of meth for individual use in one container and takes less time, Knippling said.

“In its active state, it posed minimal risk,” he said of the lab.

A search warrant was executed Wednesday morning, resulting in the discovery of the remains of a meth lab, drug paraphernalia and meth residue.

A state Division of Criminal Investigation drug lab team helped dismantle and clean up the lab Wednesday morning. DCI and James Valley Drug Task Force assisted in the investigation.

Fuller first appeared in court Wednesday and bond was set at $5,000. His next court hearing is set for Dec. 3.
