Mitchell United Way announced Thursday in a news release that it is 5 percent, or $22,000, short of its $446,000 fundraising goal for this year’s campaign.
The release included a request for help from this year’s chairwoman, Marilyn Wilson.
“The United Way would like to thank all of those businesses, employees and residents that have pledged funds to this year’s campaign,” Wilson said. “Your contributions will help us to meet the needs of the 27 agencies we support. It is not too late for others to show ‘The Magic of Caring.’ ”
Contributions may be mailed to Mitchell United Way, P.O. Box 729, Mitchell, S.D., 57301, or dropped in the mail slot at the United Way office, 304 N. Lawler St.
“No contribution is too large or too small,” Wilson added.
This year’s United Way Awards Luncheon will be Nov. 13.
