Moody to be honored at tribute dinner

Letcher resident Jill Moody will be among six honorees Saturday, Nov. 14, at the 20th annual Casey Tibbs Foundation Tribute Dinner in Fort Pierre. Moody is a seven-time SDRA Barrel Racing Champion as well as a 2007 and 2008 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo qualifier. Moody won the WNFR average title in 2008 and was the reserve world champion, and will be honored with a number of other cowboys and cowgirls, promoters and animals at the annual event, which will be held at the Casey Tibbs South Dakota Rodeo Center.

Letcher resident Jill Moody will be among six honorees Saturday, Nov. 14, at the 20th annual Casey Tibbs Foundation Tribute Dinner in Fort Pierre.

Moody is a seven-time SDRA Barrel Racing Champion as well as a 2007 and 2008 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo qualifier. Moody won the WNFR average title in 2008 and was the reserve world champion, and will be honored with a number of other cowboys and cowgirls, promoters and animals at the annual event, which will be held at the Casey Tibbs South Dakota Rodeo Center.

Other honorees this year include Frank Thompson, the 2000 steer wrestling world champion, Bennie and Billie Bender, the Hollenbeck Rodeo Co., the late Paul Painter and Marilyn Painter, and the horses Smart Watch and Uncs Watch.

The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the day of the event, with dinner being served at 6:30 p.m. and the tribute following at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30 or $15 for children 10 and under. To purchase tickets, send money and a self addressed, stamped envelope to Casey Tibbs Foundation, PO Box 37, Fort Pierre, SD 57532.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are limited to 300 seats. The ticket deadline is Sunday.
