Sigmund qualifies for national Mid-Amateur Golf Championships

Brett Sigmund, of Mitchell, qualified for the U.S. Mid-Amateur Golf Championships by taking second at a local qualifying event earlier this week.

Brett Sigmund, of Mitchell, qualified for the U.S. Mid-Amateur Golf Championships by taking second at a local qualifying event earlier this week.

Sigmund shot a 73 and finished second Tuesday at the qualifying event at Westward Ho Country Club in Sioux Falls. Brett Egge, Sioux Falls, won the event with a 72.

The two men travel to the Kiawah Island Club in Charleston, S.C., Oct. 3-8 to compete in the mid-amateur championships.
