Pasture walk set in Pukwana Tuesday

PUKWANA — A pasture walk educational event will be at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the Wagner ranch near Pukwana.
To get to the ranch, exit Interstate 90 at Pukwana, drive south 12.5 miles on Highway 50, turn west on 350th Avenue, travel a mile, then go ¼ mile south.

PUKWANA — A pasture walk educational event will be at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the Wagner ranch near Pukwana.

To get to the ranch, exit Interstate 90 at Pukwana, drive south 12.5 miles on Highway 50, turn west on 350th Avenue, travel a mile, then go ¼ mile south.

The event will end at 7 p.m. and includes an evening meal.

A discussion on extending grazing on warm-season grasses will be lead by Terry Gompert, cow-calf producer and Extension educator with the University of Nebraska.

Registration is encouraged before Friday, July 31, and may be completed by calling Kyle Schell, South Dakota State University range management outreach coordinator, at 688-6623, or Larry Wagner at 894-4363.

Participants should bring insect repellent and lawn chairs.
