Wilma Hohn, Parkston

Wilma Ann Hohn, 78, Parkston, died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at Avera Heart Hospital, Sioux Falls.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Parkston, with the Rev. Paul J. Josten officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parkston. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church with a 7 p.m. prayer service.

Koehn Brothers Funeral Home, Parkston, is handling arrangements.

She was born on May 9, 1931, on the family farm near Dimock, to Herman and Mary (Nolz) Schoenfelder.

She attended country School and Sts. Peter and Paul Parochial School through the eighth grade.

On Nov. 15, 1949, she married Marlin “Jim” Hohn at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dimock.

They lived and farmed west of Dimock.

They moved into Dimock in 1955.

She worked at various jobs outside her home including the Good Samaritan Center and Raven Industries.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society.

In 2004 she moved into the Avera Assisted Living Center in Parkston.

She is survived by her husband: six sons: David and wife Diane, Plymouth, Minn.; Darrel and wife Connie, Colleyville, Texas; Stanley and wife Paula, Rapid City; Steven and wife Paulette; Brian and wife Melody; and Bradley and wife Lisa, all of Parkston; a daughter, Germaine Hohn Day, Bossier City. La.; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Schoenfelder, Parkston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Lyle; a daughter, Jayne; her parents; two sisters: Magdalen Gales; and Marie Koster; and her father and mother-in-law, John and Hedwig Hohn.
