Young scores career-high against NDSU
FARGO, N.D. — South Dakota State guard/forward Kerri Young scored a career-high 23 points to help the Jackrabbits defeat Summit League foe North Dakota State 73-53 Saturday at the Bison Sports Arena.
The Mitchell native was 8-of-16 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line. She also grabbed six rebounds. Her previous high was 21 points, which came against Central Michigan in December.
SDSU Guard Megan Waytashek chipped in with 12 points and guard/forward Chynna Stevens added 10 points.
The Jackrabbits (14-7, 5-0 SL) were 20-of-56 from the field and 30-of-38 from the free-throw line.
NDSU was led by guard Brooke LeMar. She scored 20 points, while forward Holly Johnson added 13 points and eight rebounds.
The SDSU women head back home to face Denver at 7:30 p.m Thursday at Frost Arena in Brookings.
