Woman gets credit for time served for kiss at treatment center
A Mitchell woman was sentenced Wednesday to a drug recovery program in Rapid City.
Brianna Sonnenburg, 24, was already on probation for an October conviction of possession of methamphetamine. She violated her probation in November by kissing another client at Stepping Stones treatment facility in Mitchell.
Judge Tim Bjorkman sentenced Sonnenburg to 170 days in jail, but gave her credit for 170 days she has already served. As a part of this probationary period, she must successfully complete a drug treatment program at Keystone Treatment Center or face the judge imposing any or all of a suspended three-year prison term. Further conditions of her probation include no contact with any known drug users or dealers, including Nicholas Tischler.
Bjorkman reimposed all other terms and conditions of her previous probation, including any money still owed, plus court appointed attorney fees.
