Woman arrested for possessing meth
A Mitchell woman was arrested Friday for possession of a controlled substance.
According to court documents, law enforcement received consent to search 38-year-old Neva Taylor’s home on Havens Avenue because they believed a parole absconder was there and methamphetamine was being used. A search allegedly produced a plastic bag with a piece of yellow straw on Taylor’s bedroom dresser.
Taylor said the items belonged to her and provided a urine sample, which tested positive for meth, according to court documents.
The charge carries a maximum punishment upon conviction of 10 years in prison, a $20,000 fine or both.
