Woman accused of grand theft
A Mitchell woman is accused of making fraudulent returns and taking the money at Tractor Supply Company in Mitchell.
Cassie Jo Billings, 27, was an employee at Tractor Supply Company. She is charged with grand theft in March for taking more than $1,000 but less than $2,500. The charge carries a maximum penalty upon conviction of two years in prison and a $4,000 fine.
Billings told law enforcement that over four months, she wrote down and manually entered stock keeping unit numbers from various items as returns. She took the money from approximately 17 returns she entered, which totaled about $1,500, according to court documents.
