William J. "Joe" Agnitsch

William J. "Joe" Agnitsch, died Friday, March 28, 2014 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA. Funeral services were held 11:30 am Wednesday, April 2, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bettendorf. Burial with military rites were in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

He was born September 9, 1932 in Mitchell, SD to Frances J. and Eileen (Murphy) Agnitsch. He attended Notre Dame High School and obtained his bachelors degree from Dakota Wesleyan University. Joe married Constance "Connie" Strong on August 28, 1954 in Mitchell. He was employed for 33 years with Mead Johnson Pharmaceuticals, Bristol-Meyers Squibb, as a district manager. He retired in 1996. Joe was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, American Legion Post 26, Crow Valley Country Club and Davenport Country Club. He served his country for four years in the Air Force at Randolph Field, San Antonio, TX.

Survivors include his wife, Connie, daughters: Terri (Steve) Fry, Bettendorf; Kathy (Steve) Welchert, Denver, and Kristi (Chuck) Anderson, Overland Park, brothers: Tom (Diane) Agnitsch, Aberdeen; Rick (Sue) Agnitsch, Overland Park, and Mike (Diane) Agnitsch, Omaha, sisters: Shirley (Bob) Nagel, Mitchell and Rita (Tom) Gates, Mitchell.
