Kimball/White Lake hosted a boys' basketball tripleheader at the Corn Palace on Thursday night and took care of business in the finale with a 60-34 win over Andes Central.

Jesse Taylor led the way with a game-high 15 points while Kyle Peters added 12 points for the WiLdKats. KW/L shot 25-of-56 from the field and 5-of-9 from the free-throw line.

Andes Central shot 13-of-54 from the floor and 5-of-15 from the line as Gabe Cournoyer led the Eagles with 12 points.

KW/L improved to 13-4 with the win and will take on Tripp-Delmont/Armour on Monday at the Corn Palace. Andes Central finishes the regular season at 6-11. Andes Central will compete next in District 12B play.

Flandreau 93, Howard 65

HOWARD -- Flandreau defeated Howard in boys' high school basketball action on Thursday night by a score of 93-65.

Howard shot 25-of-65 from the field and 11-of-18 from the line. Cole Potter had 19 points and Cal Weise had 17 points for the Tigers. Landon Laible had eight assists.

Flandreau shot 36-of-61 from the floor and 8-of-12 from the line. Guy Zephier had 23 points to lead the scoring. Mitchel Foster had 16 points, Nic Behrens had 13 points and Geno Burshine had 12 points.

Flandreau improves to 16-3 and will host De Smet on Saturday.

Howard fell to 3-16 and travels to Hamlin on Monday.

Flandreau won the JV game 34-25.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 64,

Plankinton 30

WOONSOCKET -- Todd Stekl's 15 points helped lead Sanborn Central/Woonsocket over Plankinton 64-30 on Thursday night.

SC/W shot 27-of-48 from the field for 56 percent while hitting 13-of-21 free-throw attempts on the night. The team turned the ball over 14 times on the night and brought down 31 team rebounds.

Plankinton shot 10-of-34 from the floor for 29 percent and hit 8-of-19 free-throw shots. The team turned the ball over 18 times and brought down 13 team rebounds. Kellam Karst led the Pirates with eight points.

SB/W (7-12) takes on Bridgewater-Emery on Monday in Woonsocket. Plankinton (1-16) will host Iroquois on Monday.

Viborg/Hurley 84, Marion 25

MARION -- Dennis DeNeui scored 21 points to lead Viborg/Hurley past Marion 84-25 on Thursday night.

The Cougars shot 35-of-65 from the field and 2-of-4 from the line in the win. Andrew Hora recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Ryne Kludt had 12 points and Trevor Jacobsen had 10.

Marion was led by Jacob Weurtz who had a double-double, scoring 14 and hauling in 11 rebounds. Marion shot 11-of-52 from the floor and 3-of-5 from the line.

Marion fell to 1-18 and will travel to Rutland to take on Oldham-Ramona/Rutland on Saturday while Viborg/Hurley finishes the regular season at 18-2 and travels to Centerville for district competition on Feb. 28.

Girls

Viborg/Hurley 53, Marion 27

MARION -- Viborg/Hurley defeated Marion 53-27 Thursday night in girls' high school basketball action.

Angie Lee scored 14 points for Viborg/Hurley. The team shot 20-of-50 from the floor and 9-of-15 from the free-throw line. Haley Jorgensen added 13 points on the night while bringing in nine of the teams 31 total rebounds. They turned the ball over 16 times.

Marion shot 11-of-40 from the field for 28 percent. The Bears were 2-of-6 from the free-throw line. Kylie Hughes scored eight points. She also recorded six steals. The Bears had 12 total rebounds and 20 turnovers.

Viborg/Hurley improved to 14-5 and will take on Flandreau Indian in Viborg for its next game. Marion finished its regular season with a 2-17 record and will get ready for district play.

Viborg/Hurley won the JV game 41-8.

Freeman 49, Avon 47

FREEMAN -- In a back-and-forth game Freeman was able to come out on top as they defeated Avon 49-47 on Thursday night in girls' high school basketball action.

Freeman shot 14-of-43 on the night and hit 13-of-19 free-throw attempts. The Flyers only had seven turnovers on the night and 15 rebounds in the win.

Nicole Saarie led the team with 15 points. Dina Soulek scored 12 on the night.

Avon shot 18-of-49 from the floor and 1-of-2 from the line in the loss. The Pirates grabbed 30 total rebounds, eight from Shyra Nagel and Paige Vilhauer, and turned the ball over 13 times.

Nagel led Avon with 17 points on the night. Lanae Van Gerpen added 10.

Both teams have completed the regular season and will prepare for district competition. Freeman finishes at 13-7 while Avon will head into the postseason with a record of 11-9.

Parkston 80, Howard 37

PARKSTON -- Parkston defeated Howard 80-37 on Thursday in a girls' high school basketball game.

Parkston shot 31-of-76 from the floor and 17-of-30 from the free-throw line. Marie Malloy led the team with 34 points, 14 rebounds, nine steals and seven assists. Erica Harrold added 18 points for the Trojans.

Kelsey Dawson had 11 points on the night to lead Howard. Howard shot 13-of-55 from the floor and 10-of-17 from the line. Jenna Clark had eight rebounds for the Tigers.

Parkston (15-3) will take on Bon Homme in district play on Tuesday. Howard (1-19) will also be in district competition for its next game.

Parkston won the JV game 40-26.

Dakota Christian 53,

Sunshine Bible Academy 44

MILLER -- The Dakota Christian girls' basketball team defeated Sunshine Bible Academy 53-44 on Thursday.

Dakota Christian shot 44 percent from the floor as Sara De Waard had 19 points and 13 rebounds. Brooklyn Vander Pol scored 14 for the Cadets.

Sunshine Bible Academy shot 28 percent on the night and was led by Tricia Wilken who had 16 points.

Both teams have finished regular season play and will prepare for district competition. Dakota Christian finishes at 7-13 and Sunshine Bible Academy at 10-8.

Plankinton 36

FORESTBURG -- Sanborn Central/Woonsocket trailed after the first quarter on Thursday but came back strong to beat Plankinton 46-36.

SC/W shot 18-of-48 from the field and 8-of-17 from the free-throw line. Rachel Moore scored 14 points to lead the team. Shelby Selland added 12 points on the night.

Plankinton shot 13-of-54 from the floor and 5-of-7 from the line. Katie Anderson and Jordan Achterberg each had eight points.

SC/W (18-2) will play its district game on Tuesday in Huron. Their opponent has yet to be decided. Plankinton (4-14) will compete next in district play as well.

SCOTLAND -- Scotland defeated Tripp-Delmont/Armour 71-28 on Thursday night.

Scotland was led by Aisha Abbink with 14 points. Haley Brunke scored 13 points and Lacey Bietz tacked on 12. Kennedy Asche led the team with 10 rebounds.

TDA was led by Hannah Just with eight points.

No team stats were available for this game.

Scotland (15-5) will take on Ethan in District 11B play on Tuesday at the Corn Palace. TDA (6-14) will be competing in District 12B next.

TDA won the JV game 40-34.

PLATTE -- Devon Brecke scored 41 points and brought down seven rebounds for Wagner as the Red Raiders defeated Platte-Geddes 75-53 on Thursday.

Wagner shot 29-of-57 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line in the win. Jessa Doom recorded 21 points and LaShawn Medicine Horn recorded seven assists.

Platte-Geddes shot 20-of-49 from the floor and 11-of-17 from the line. Josie DeGroot led the team with 21 points. Haley Whalen scored 14 and Kelly Knudson had nine assists. Whalen and Knudson both finished with seven rebounds.

Wagner (20-0) and Platte-Geddes (8-12) will face off again on Tuesday in the first round of District 10B action.

Miller 69, Highmore-Harrold 51

MILLER -- Alexis Watts put up 29 points on Thursday night as Miller defeated Highmore-Harrold 69-51.

Watts recorded a double-double as she led the team with 11 rebounds. Mallory Fischer tacked on 13 points and Hallie Fulton finished with 10.

Miller shot 29-of-52 from the floor and 8-of-14 from the line.

Highmore-Harrold shot 14-of-45 from the field and 18-of-20 from the line. Mckenzee Zilberburg led the team with 15 points. Courtney Keller added 14.

Miller (17-2) will host McLaughlin on Saturday while Highmore-Harrold (12-8) will compete next in district play.

Miller won the JV game 34-28.
