Wempe selected to experience rural health care
Kristin Wempe, medical student at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine and a Mitchell native, was selected in a competitive process to participate in the Rural Experiences for Health Professions Students at Wagner for four weeks this summer.
The REHPS program connects interprofessional students enrolled in medical, physician assistant, advanced practice nursing and pharmacy programs through USD, South Dakota State University and Mount Marty College with medical professionals practicing in 11 rural South Dakota host communities. Other area sites include Parkston, Platte and Winner. The program is funded by the South Dakota Department of Health, Office of Rural Health.
