Mitchell South Dakota 120 South Lawler 57301

A Wagner man convicted of maintaining a drug-involved premises was sentenced last week by U.S. District Judge Karen E. Schreier.

Jeffery Louis Irving, 38, was sentenced to 87 months in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release.

Irving was indicted with four other people for conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, and with one other person for maintaining a drug-involved premises, by a federal grand jury on Dec. 3. He pleaded guilty to the drug-involved premises charge on March 6 and the conspiracy count was dismissed.

Irving had allowed another man to stay at his house in Wagner and distribute methamphetamine from the residence.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the Charles Mix County Sheriff's Office. Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer D. Mammenga prosecuted the case.

Irving is being allowed to self-report to the U.S. Marshals Service on June.
