Veterans Day services planned
PIERRE — Gov. Dennis Daugaard recently signed a proclamation recognizing the service of South Dakota’s veterans. The proclamation encourages South Dakotans to remember the service and sacrifice of the nation’s veterans and military personnel during Monday’s Veterans Day observances.
A number of area communities have scheduled activities for Veterans Day. Programs include:
A Monday program will start at 12:45 p.m. at Colome School Auditorium, 105 Carr St. The American Legion will host a veterans dinner at 6 p.m. at the Post Home, 208 Main St.
A Monday program will start at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Hall with a potluck dinner and a program.
A Monday program will start at 11 a.m. at the Davison County Fairgrounds, 3200 W. Havens. A dinner will follow (no charge for veterans).
A Saturday program will start with a 6 p.m. Veterans Day dinner at the Tripp American Legion. A Monday program will start at 2:30 p.m. at the Tripp/Delmont School Gym.
A Monday program will start at 2:30 p.m. at the Bon Homme School District Gym in Tyndall.
A Monday program will start at 10 a.m. at the Winner National Guard Armory, Seventh Street and Golf Course Road. The program is sponsored by Winner High School and Middle School. Coffee and cookies will be served following the program. The Winner American Legion will have a veterans luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at the Post Home, 311 Jefferson St.
