USDA recognizes Yankton Sioux Tribe
The Yankton Sioux Tribe recently was recognized by the Agriculture Department for its outstanding service in partnering with USDA Rural Development and promoting homeownership.
The Yankton Sioux Tribe promotes USDA Rural Development programs with their tribal entity, the Yankton Sioux Housing Authority. In addition, the USDA said this has allowed the YSHA to meet the needs of its enrolled members and enhancing partnerships between the state, local and private enterprises.
The USDA, through its Rural Development mission area, has programs designed to improve the economic stability of rural communities, businesses, residents, farmers and ranchers in rural America.
South Dakota USDA Rural Development offices are located in Aberdeen, Mitchell, Pierre, Rapid City, Sioux Falls, Watertown and Yankton.
