US Sen. Johnson endorses Robinson's House bid
SIOUX FALLS (AP) — Democratic U.S. Sen. Tim Johnson is officially backing a Rapid City native who wants to run against Republican U.S. Rep. Kristi Noem.
Johnson has issued a statement saying Corinna Robinson served honorably with the Army in Iraq — a war he supported.
Robinson spent 25 years in the Army and five years as a civilian with the Pentagon and the Iraqi Command. She is the only person so far to announce a bid to seek the Democratic nomination to run against Noem.
Noem is in her second term as South Dakota's lone member of the U.S. House. Federal Election Commission filings show she is far outpacing Robinson in fundraising.
