Mitchell Police responded to a two vehicle collision Saturday at the intersection of Ohlman Street and 23rd Avenue that caused $10,000 worth of damage.

Jean Gaulke, 63, of rural Mitchell, was traveling eastbound on 23rd Avenue at about 40 mph in her 2012 Dodge Journey as Tammy Davis, 56, of Mitchell, was traveling southbound on Ohlman Street at about 30 mph in her 2001 Saturn.

Davis failed to yield at the stop sign and collided with Gaulke.

Davis’s vehicle sustained $4,500 of damage and Gaulke’s vehicle $5,500. Mitchell EMS responded to the scene to check on Davis but didn’t transport her to the hospital.

Davis was cited for failure to yield after a stop, according to Mitchell Police Sgt. Dave Beintema.
