Two arrested in Mitchell for peddling without license
Mitchell police arrested two men Friday for operating without a sales tax license, which is a misdemeanor.
Gerald Kimes, 51, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and George Gladkoff, 50, of Escondido, Calif., were allegedly selling generators, air compressors and other items from a vehicle with Louisiana license plates Friday at the Cubby's Gas Station on South Burr Street.
Detective Lt. Don Everson said they lost the luck of the draw when they tried to sell an item to a retired police officer. The retired officer reported the incident to the Mitchell Police Division, Everson said.
The misdemeanor charge carries up to a one-year county jail term, a $2,000 fine or both.
