Hanson girls win Howard Invite

HOWARD — The Hanson girls’ cross country team won the Howard Invite Monday.

The Beavers had 17 points and topped Howard (28) and McCook Central/Montrose (35).

Freeman’s Rebecca Eberts took second with a time of 16 minutes, 17 seconds, while Hanson’s Emily Hanson was third in 16:41.

The top area finisher on the boys’ side was Woonsocket’s Rex Schlicht. He took fourth with a time of 18:16.

Ethan/Parkston, Bon Homme win at SESD meet

SCOTLAND — The Ethan/Parkston girls and Bon Homme boys won the SESD Conference cross country meet Monday in Scotland.

On the girls’ side, Ethan/Parkston had 12 points and beat Mount Vernon/Plankinton (26). Winner’s Chloe Bartels won the individual crown with a time of 15 minutes, 23.07 seconds.

The Bon Homme boys defeated Wagner for the team title. They had the same amount of points but the Red Raiders only had three runners.

Wagner’s Nick Dion won the individual race with a time of 17:35.26.
