Troopers find drugs, guns in vehicle pulled over for speeding
CHAMBERLAIN -- South Dakota High Patrol troopers pulled over a speeding vehicle on Interstate 90 last week and found marijuana and a stolen handgun.
Lt. Jeff DeVaney with the highway patrol said the incident is still under investigation and names of three people in the vehicle will not be released at this time.
However, he said the trooper who pulled over the vehicle suspected criminal activity and deployed a drug dog. The dog indicated the odor of drugs, and a search revealed marijuana, marijuana edibles, cash and two loaded handguns.
One of the handguns was reported stolen, according to the highway patrol. All items were seized.
The three people in the vehicle were arrested on drug and other charges, which have not been released.
