Tronnes recommended for appointment to Mitchell City Council
Dave Tronnes has been nominated to fill a recently vacated seat on the Mitchell City Council.
Mayor Ken Tracy announced the selection Wednesday morning. The council will vote to accept or reject the recommendation Feb. 3.
Tronnes, 63, is a vice president at Toshiba in Mitchell, and has served on committees for several city projects in the past, including the first and second indoor ice rinks, and the soccer complex.
Tronnes will replace outgoing Ward 2 Councilman Dan Allen, who submitted his resignation letter last month. Allen, 54, has represented Ward 2 since he was appointed in May 2006, but is moving out of his ward, which is located in southeast Mitchell.
