SIOUX FALLS (AP) — Jurors couldn't decide if a former Dell Rapids nursing home worker was guilty of abusing a woman, so the case will restart.

The Argus Leader reports (http://argusne.ws/1dz5Fq4 ) 36-year-old Heather Lynn Laird is accused of pulling a 76-year-old woman's hair, holding her down and forcing her to take a cup of pills on Nov. 3. She was also accused of grabbing and pushing on the woman's breast.

After deliberating six hours, the Sioux Falls jury was deadlocked.

Minnehaha County State's Attorney Aaron McGowan says the case will restart, possibly resulting in a second jury trial.

Laird was charged with one count of abuse or neglect of an elderly adult, which carries a possible two-year prison sentence.
