Training set for marketing locally grown food
BROOKINGS — SDSU Extension will present a training series Feb. 5, 12 and 19 in Mitchell for those interested in marketing locally grown food and developing processed foods.
The series will include three sessions running from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Each of these classes can be registered for individually. The training will be at the SDSU Regional Extension Center in Mitchell.
The training includes Food Safety and Processing for Farmers Markets, Feb. 5; Starting a Commercial Licensed Kitchen and Introduction to Food Labeling, Feb. 12; and Enhancing Your Farmers Market and Community Supported Agriculture, Feb. 19.
The series costs $45 per person, or $15 per class. Participants should visit igrow.org/events to print a registration form for this training.
