Mitchell bowlers record perfect games in tourney

HURON -- Two Mitchell bowlers recorded perfect games at Fair City Lanes' 1st Annual Doubles Tour-nament on Sunday in Huron.

Marty Barington bowled a 300 during qualifying as he and Jamie Eide, of Sioux Falls, finished in 3rd place at the tournament.

Nate Sievert and Scott Larson, both of Mitchell, teamed up and finished in 7th place. Sievert bowled games of 300 and 297 during the tournament, which had over 60 entries from across the state.

DWU women's golf in the lead at Ottawa Invite

OTTAWA, Kan. -- Dakota Wesleyan University's women's golf team heads into the final day at the Ottawa Spring Invitational in first place.

The Tigers hold an 18-stroke lead over Morningside, which sits in second in a field of six teams.

DWU's Danielle Bellet shot a round of 75, which was second best on the day. The golfers will compete in the final round of play today in Ottawa, Kan.

USBC announces SD Bowling Hall of Fame for 2012

The South Dakota State United States Bowling Congress Hall of Fame has announced its inductees for 2012.

The inductees will be recognized at the annual Bowling Jamboree and Honors Banquet on July 27th and 28th at the Ramkota in Pierre.

Inductees for this year include Scott Stabnow, of Pierre; Patty Fanter, of Rapid City; Gayle Bussell, of Huron; Douglas Thompson, of Aberdeen; Brandy Foreman, of Rapid City; Bill and Cheryl Cooper, of Sioux Falls; John Zilverberg, of Highmore; Julie Johnson, of Huron; Jenny Day, of Yankton; and Ryan Dufour, of Pierre.
