Local man bowls first perfect game
Zane Ireland, of Mitchell, bowled his first-ever perfect game during a team event in the Corn Palace Open Feb. 22, at Village Bowl, Mitchell.
Ireland also bowled a 221 and 228 in the event and his team currently sits in fourth place in the team standings.
The open is a handicapped tournament that runs through the end of March.
Summer baseball meeting today
The Mitchell Baseball Association will have an information night for seventh graders and up interested in summer baseball tonight from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Mitchell Middle School.
Final registrations will be taken along with information provided on summer schedules.
SDHSAA board meeting postponed
The South Dakota High School Activities Association board of directors meeting scheduled for today has been postponed until March 19.
The meeting was scheduled to discuss the 11AAA football class and the possibility of using Sioux Falls as the full-time location for the state high school basketball tournaments.
A revised agenda will be posted on the SDHSAA website on March 12.
