The Tigers (16-13, 9-10 GPAC) got 34 points from junior forward Jalen Voss in the 86-72 win over the No. 13 Broncos (19-8, 13-5 GPAC) in the team’s penultimate Great Plains Athletic Conference regular-season game.

The win puts the Tigers in fifth place in the GPAC standings before the team’s final game against rival Mount Marty Wednesday in Yankton. A win over the Lancers -- who are 2-16 in GPAC play -- could set up a third matchup with Hastings in the first round of the conference tournament.

“We were kind of a three-man wrecking crew on offense in this game,” first-year DWU coach Matt Wilber said.

In addition to Voss’ game-high 34 points, the Tigers got 28 from Trae Bergh and 15 from Kris Menning. Bergh made five three-pointers in the win, while Voss pulled down a game-high 18 rebounds for a double-double.

“Jalen was just tremendous for us offensively and defensively,” Wilber said. “When he was in the game he was very tough to guard and our defense was better.”

Mitchell native Tate Martin dished out a game-high four assists, while Luke Bamberg chipped in with five points and five rebounds.

The Tigers shot 27-of-61 from the field and 25-of-35 from the free-throw line, while outrebounding the Broncos 43-38.

Hastings had three players score in double figures, led by Brady Lollman with 20 points, while Brett Wells and Brandon Krause each added 14 points. The Broncos shot 24-of-60 from the field and 20-of-27 from the free-throw line.

“We have a lot to play for and that is a rivalry game. It’s important to us,” Wiber said of the Tigers' regular-season finale with Mount Marty.
