DWU athletic department ready to take plunge

Five members of the Dakota Wesleyan University athletic department are taking part in the Special Olympics South Dakota Polar Plunge, to help raise money for Mitchell Special Olympics.

Football coach Ross Cimpl, wrestling coach Matt Sedivy, graduate assistant Kevin Kelly and sports information director Leah Rado will take the plunge at 2 p.m. Feb. 8 in the parking lot of Blarney’s in Mitchell.

Due to a track meet, Belling, the DWU head track coach, will not be in attendance but is raising money for the cause.

In order to take the plunge, each participant needs to raise at least $100.

Briar Cliff in dual

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — The No. 17 Dakota Wesleyan University wrestling team beat Briar Cliff 21-17 in a dual Wednesday at the Newman Flanagan Center.

The Tigers got wins from Will Seydel (133), Eric Gruis (Hvt.), Shea Klooster (197), Tyler Sarringar (184), Jarrick Jensen (165) and Ryan Roach (157).
